Same Outcome, Different Lines Down the Mountain.
There is no single way to love the snow.
Some people chase first tracks. Some chase the view. Some chase ramen and a sake shots. Some just want that first click of the bindings and the promise of a full day ahead.
Well that is exactly why we are introducing you to our Snow Holiday Experts.
They all ski differently. They all travel differently. They all après differently. And that is the whole point. There is no one way José.
There is no right or wrong. Only different ski styles, line preferences, rituals and rhythms. You get to choose who feels like your person. The outcome? Always the same -an ultimate snow holiday.
Let’s meet them 👇
CODY – Calm at the Top, Adrenaline on the Way Down
This is why he loves snow:
“The moment when you are standing or sitting at the top of the run on a bluebird day, getting to take in the view, the quiet and calm, looking out before the adrenaline starts pumping as you begin your run.”
Cody is the steady one. The calm-before-the-drop type. The kind of traveller who knows that when things get hectic, the best move is simple.
Best travel advice:
“Honestly, after years of being in travel and through all of the ups and downs, I think the best advice is to keep calm. Sounds silly, but in those situations being calm and respectful will solve things a lot quicker – sometimes it even gets you better options and alternatives!”
Après?
“Prob my favourite currently is Alpen Mac & Cheese with a pint of ale.”
On his next ski trip to Canada, he is most excited about:
“Honestly getting to visit Canada and experience the whole country, culture and definitely some movie-like winter mountain villages!”
Fresh eyes. Big mountains. Movie-set villages. We are ready.
KATE – Fresh Snow and Full Send Energy
This is why she loves snow:
“Probably the excitement you and the people you are with get after an awesome run and watching fresh snow fall.”
Kate is about shared stoke. The buzz at the bottom of a run. The snow still falling. The group energy high.
Best travel advice:
“When doing a road trip, make sure you check the weather and road closures the night before so you can plan your day accordingly and not get into any trouble on the road.”
Après?
“Either a drink in the bar or in the hot tub to talk about the antics of the day.”
On her next ski trip to Canada, she is excited about:
“Heading back to some resorts I haven’t been to in over 10 years and putting my shiny Ikon Pass to work.”
Been there before? Favourite moments?
“Yes, too many. Fresh snow, huge amounts of terrain, dog sledding, ice hockey in Calgary, cat skiing, heli skiing, fresh snow, beautiful scenery – just getting back to experience all Canada has in winter, really!”
If you want terrain, variety, and someone who knows how to maximise a pass, Kate is your girl.
LAURA – Views, Timing, and Sake Shots
This is why she loves snow:
“The views, I love to get up the top and take in the whole view, you feel like you are on top of the world. It is a magical feeling, especially as the day is ending, the sun is starting to set and you think to yourself – I am the luckiest person on this planet!”
That golden-hour skier. The sunset lap person.
Best travel advice:
“BE ON TIME!” First lifts don’t wait, powder gets tracked, and the best dinner spots fill up fast. A little punctuality goes a long way on a ski trip.
Short. Clear. Accurate.
Après?
“SAKI shot!! Can’t wait to have a ramen!”
On her next ski trip to Japan, she is excited about:
“I’m so excited about everything, from the smells to the people, the shinkansen!! The food, the history, the ‘JAPOW’”
If Japan is calling you, Laura is already packed.
BELLA – Apricity, Peach Cider and Snow City Local
Bella brought poetry to the mountain.
This is why she loves snow:
“Have you heard of the word Apricity? An old English word meaning the warmth of the sun in winter. I heard it in my first ski season and think it’s so pretty. Because I can close my eyes and picture it! Spring skiing or a crisp bluebird day. Unreal.”
Apricity. That’s her.
Best travel advice:
“Probably just the whole book of ‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go!’ by Dr Seuss – classic!”
Après?
“Get this. Had it for the first time with lunch at Sun Peaks in 2023 and then it was my drink of choice my second season. Okanagan Peach Cider.”
On her next ski trip to Japan, she is excited about:
“The whole thing really – snow monkeys, traditional culture, Tokyo (I am a fan of Fast & Furious), JAPOW snow conditions.”
Curious. Open. Ready for it all.
CLAIRE – The Insider, The Itinerary Queen
This is why she loves snow:
“There is so much to unpack here, no travel pun intended but it works perfectly. I love being in the mountains in the winter, skiing is such a fun activity, and the resort aura just adds to it. Gorgeous mountains, winter’s charm, the cosiest accommodation options with delicious après and dinners. What could possibly be better than that.”
Best travel advice:
“Always pack a spare fold-up bag for the shopping – I always end up coming home with more than I took!”
Après?
“Californian chardonnay is my absolute favourite. Getting back to your chalet after a day on the slopes, starting a fire, cosying up with a glass of chardonnay and some good company is my way of wrapping up the day.”
On her next ski trip to Canada, she is excited about:
“I am going to SilverStar and Whistler this year with my kids, who are adults now, and I can’t wait to show them why I do this for a living. SilverStar is one of my absolute favourite resorts, where you find a mid-mountain village with stunning accommodation options, great restaurants and shops within walking distance, and beautifully groomed runs for days! Really looking forward to having quality family time. And after that, the kiddies are flying home and I am off to Whistler solo. Haven’t been back for about ten years now and can’t wait to see what’s changed.”
Claire is for the planners. The detail-lovers. The travellers who want someone who’s skied it, stayed there, walked the village, and knows exactly which chalet pairs best with a glass of chardonnay.
