Sun Peaks – Ski Village Done Right

If Sun Peaks were a dessert, it would be a candy apple… hear us out!

After Nick tested the runs and the village life in December and January, the best way he can describe the destination is like a candy apple.

At the core, you’ve got a healthy and crunchy green apple, that’s the massive mountains and those perfect, crisp runs where Nick barely saw a lift line.

Then, there’s a thick layer of delicious caramel, which represents the stunning village and the plethora of ski-in/ski-out accommodation options that make holidaying here so seamless.

But the sprinkles on top are what really make it shine. It’s the extras you always appreciate: snow activities, a fully equipped gym, a well-stocked grocery store, a liquor store with a great wine selection, and even a Japanese restaurant he found very hard to stay away from 🍣

Ski through village makes it shine.

We’ve explored our fair share of mountain bases, but the ‘ski-through’ village at Sun Peaks is genuinely next level – and it isn’t just about the convenience (although skiing right to the café for your morning flat white is a massive win ☕️)

The resort was built following a master plan to reflect the charm of traditional alpine villages in Europe. When you’re sliding through the village, you’re taking in gabled rooflines, colourful façades, and the arcades that give the place such a lively, postcard-perfect feel.

The village is so good, it allows you to transition from a morning on the peaks to a long lunch or a bit of retail therapy without ever losing your mountain momentum.

It’s the kind of resort you go to once… and then find yourself looking at dates to go back.

If it’s been sitting on your list, it might be time to move it a little higher.
