Your tour leader – Fiona Bannister
Fiona Bannister returns as one of our tour guides. Based in Brisbane, Australia, Fiona spends as much time as possible each year skiing, and has been on several group tours with travel&co.  Her love of the outdoors has seen her travel extensively, including ski resorts in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Japan and the USA. When not skiing, she enjoys kayaking, camping and bushwalking, and planning her next trip! Fiona is looking forward to showing everyone the wonderful ski areas at SilverStar and Sun Peaks.

Matt Thomson lives and breathes ski, snow, fitness and snow adventure. He gets skiers fit and ready to hit the slopes with SnowFIT and now he’s joining travel&co as a tour leader. He’s skied around the world – and was the tour leader for the Canadian Adventure 2024 – taking the group to SilverStar and Sun Peaks.

• Prices are based on per person twin share, in NZD, land only and for selected travel periods only. Single supplement available.

2025 Ski Canada SilverStar Sun Peaks Small Group Hosted Tour Itinerary

This group itinerary is flexible, and the group hosts will adapt the itinerary to suit the wants and needs of the group. Below is an indication of how this small group tour will operate. With a 6-day ski lift pass at each resort included in your tour price, you can choose what days you want to ski, and when to take it easy off the slopes. The choice is entirely yours – every day on this small group tour is your ski holiday, your way!

Day 1  Arrive at SilverStar

Transfer to SilverStar Ski Resort and check into your accommodation at Snowbird Lodge or Silver Creek Lodge. If you arrive early enough you may wish to visit one of the village food markets to get a few groceries.

Your Group Hosts Matt and Fiona will be in touch to arrange for everyone to meet in the Village tomorrow to get to know each other.

Day 2  SilverStar

Breakfast is at your leisure (own arrangements) while in SilverStar. Your room in SilverStar has self-catering facilities and there are lots of cafés in the Village where you can sit and have breakfast while taking in the mountain village vibes. We recommend Bugaboos for delicious bakery goods and Town Hall for amazing coffee!

This morning you will meet the rest of the group, get your 6-day ski lift pass for SilverStar and pick up any rental ski gear you have pre-booked. Please pre-book your ski rentals through us in advance to ensure you have the correct sizes and gear reserved for you. After discussing what runs to ski and everyone’s skiing ability, we get straight into it, and hit the slopes!

If this is your first time skiing overseas you may choose to join a ski school lesson on the mountain (lesson places often sell out in advance, so please pre-book these with us in advance).

Towards the end of the afternoon, we will arrange to meet for après ski to share the day’s activity, snow stories and debrief over a drink and/or dinner together (optional).

Days 3–7  SilverStar

Breakfast is at your leisure (own arrangements).

The next day’s skiing, activities and options will be discussed the evening beforehand with the group, so you can decide whether to spend the mornings skiing with your fellow ski pals, carving out your own tracks, or doing something different. As a group, you may decide to have lunch together or do an activity together (optional). Alternatively, you can choose to soak in the ski village atmosphere with its quaint boutique stores, cafes and restaurants, or simply unwind and relax in your room.

At the end of each day there will always be a bar or restaurant booked by your hosts where you can come together to enjoy some social time and conversation with the group (optional). If you are travelling on your own, this is a great time to enjoy the mountain après scene in a friendly, social environment with other like-minded, active Kiwi and Aussie travelers.

Additional activities that we recommend considering in SilverStar are the Snowcat Dinner Tour, where you climb aboard the Paradise Express Snowcat to dine at Paradise Camp, with superb views of the Monashee Mountains, or heading off to a true Canadian Ice Hockey game. Please ask us about Ice Hockey games when booking your tour so that we check the game timetables and pre-book your tickets and return transfers from your accommodation.

Day 8  Depart SilverStar & Arrive at Sun Peaks

Check out of your SilverStar accommodation and take a private van transfer together as a group from SilverStar to Sun Peaks (approximately 2.5 to 3 hours drive). On the way we will stop somewhere for lunch and a grocery shop. Check in to your room at Sun Peaks Lodge at 3.00 pm. Head out and explore Sun Peaks ski resort village or relax in your room until we meet at a bar or restaurant for drinks and/or dinner (optional).

Days 9-14  Sun Peaks

Your daily breakfasts can be included (additional cost) in Sun Peaks at the lodge restaurant. Please advise us when booking your tour if you would like daily breakfasts included in Sun Peaks. Alternatively, there are numerous cafes in the Village where you can get a hearty breakfast to fuel your skiing for the day. Ask us about upgrading to a Studio Room (additional cost) at Sun Peaks Lodge if you would like a self-catering room.

Just like we did in SilverStar, we will discuss the next day’s activity in advance, the evening beforehand, and you can choose what you’d like to do or join in on, day by day. There’s no need to pre-plan if you don’t want to. It’s your ski holiday, your way!

At the end of each day your hosts will arrange for somewhere for the group to meet for après ski conversation, drinks and/or dinner (optional).

An additional activity that we recommend considering in Sun Peaks is the Alpine Fondue & Starlight Descent which is twilight ride on the chairlift up to Sunburst Bar & Eatery where you’ll enjoy a three-course fondue meal. Pre-bookings for this evening activity are essential (additional cost). Also popular in Sun Peaks are snowmobiling, ice hockey games and Snowlimo tours. These additional activities often sell out in advance, so pre-booking is advised. Please ask us to add these activities onto your trip booking.

Day 15  Depart Sun Peaks

Check out of your room at Sun Peaks Lodge and bid farewell to your new ski friends. Transfer to the airport or your next arrangements.
