Overview

Titlis is the jewel in Central Switzerland’s crown and the only publicly accessible glacier in the area. The ski and snowboarding slopes are set amongst surrounding mountains and valleys, with stunning panoramic views.

Titlis Mountain, with its glacier, overseas the village at 3,239m (highest point) and is one of the top 10 ski regions is Switzerland. Engelberg was founded in 1120 by monks of the Benedictine Monastery and their influence can be felt today – with monks living, working and teaching in Engelberg.

Whether you’re strapped to a board or a pair of skis, Titlis promises the ultimate in winter fun. Boasting more than 80 km of slopes, most of which are snow-sure, the ski area offers plenty of variety. What’s more, the season extends from October through until May.

For wonderful mountain gastronomy, Engelberg offers culinary delights from in the village to the top of Titlis ski resort. Choose from a traditional Swiss dish, a cold plate with local products or fine dishes freshly prepared on the grill. The mountain huts and restaurants offer the right taste for every taste. There is even a Mövenpick Ice Cream Bar – at 3020 above sea level.

Titlis Summit Station | The world’s first fully revolving cable car transports you conveniently to the Titlis summit station. The views are simply stunning.


Titlis Rotair | Don’t miss out on a ride in the world’s first revolving cable car! The Titlis Rotair transports you from the middle station at Stand up to 3,020 metres above sea level. The cable car rotates 360 degrees during the five-minute trip, treating you to spectacular panoramic views of rock faces, crevasses and mountain peaks.


Titlis Cliff Walk | This experience will take your breath away. At 3,041 metres above sea level, the walk is over a suspension bridge where you will take a mere 150 heart-pounding steps that will have you embracing the dizzying heights.


Ice Flyer | The Ice Flyer chair lift promises spectacular views down into the icy depths of the glacier.


Stotzig Egg Hike | Panoramic views as far as the eye can see. The glacier trail begins at the Titlis Cableways summit station and leads to the Stotzig Egg vantage point. From here, you can look forward to spectacular views of the nearby and distant peaks that make up the Central Swiss Alps. During the winter months (October – May), part of the hiking trail is on the ski slope.


Titlis Glacier Cave | At the frosty heart of the Titlis glacier, a magical world of ice awaits. The cave’s 150-metre-long walkway descends 20 metres below the surface of the glacier.


Trübsee Snow Park | Let off some steam in the snow park at Trübsee Alpine Lodge. Grab a snowtube, minibob or balancer and whiz down the piste, whipping up plenty of snow as you go.


Igloo Village | The Trübsee igloo village is a small village made of ice and located in the heart of a magnificent mountain landscape. Be sure to make a detour to the igloo bar and enjoy the special atmosphere amid all the snow and ice.


Snowxpark | Turn the throttle and race through the snow with your friends.


Tobogganing | Covering a distance of 3,500 metres and an altitude of 250 metres, the toboggan run is sure to set pulses racing. It offers an exhilarating ride as you whiz through the snow covered forests all the way down from Gerschnialp to Engelberg.


Snowshow Trails and Winter Walking | Strap on snowshoes and make tracks through the glistening powder snow. Numerous trails await around Gerschnialp and Trübsee. The network of winter walking trails spans some 50 kilometres, crossing mountains and valleys.


Restaurants on Titlis | The mountain is home to a whole host of restaurants and food outlets – from the valley station to over 3,000 metres above sea level.
