With a welcomed 128-acre expansion to Taynton Bowl, the resort’s off-piste backcountry-style terrain. It was the first phase of a multi-stage terrain expansion, opening up a new alpine zone to skiers and riders. Skiers are able to access the highest point of this terrain by a custom built, 13 passenger snowcat. The Monster X, is equipped with plush seating and a pumping sound system and offers a journey up that’s just as much fun as the descent that follows.

A new and fun way to explore the Nordic trails around Panorama Mountain Resort. Fat Bike tires are super fat and made for the snow.

Horse Drawn Wagon Ride

Embark on an early evening or night-time rustic horse drawn wagon ride through snow covered trails. The wagon will head down Toby Creek Road to the historic outfitters base camp and stables. Here you will enjoy a hot drink and bonfire before returning to the resort.

Taste of the Valley Snowmobile Tour

Perfect for those who want to test their snowmobile legs!. Start with an introduction to the machines and some time in the practice field, before heading out on the trail to the scenic lookout where you will get a great view of the Toby Creek Valley, Panorama Mountain Resort, and the surrounding mountains.

Paradise Basin Snowmobile Tour

The most popular tour option, offering a little bit of everything! You’ll travel up to the historic Paradise Mine and enjoy a mountain sized cookie & hot chocolate drink beside the fireplace in the cozy alpine cabin. Along the way take in the breathtaking groomed scenic trails through the old growth forest, see a spectacular frozen waterfall, and have the opportunity to see local wildlife!

Kicking Horse Day Trip

Take a day trip to one of the most thrilling ski resorts in Canada. The Powder Express Shuttle will arrive right as the gondola opens so you can get in as many runs as you like. With plenty of steep runs and deep fluffy powder, Kicking Horse offers adrenaline pumping vertical runs, tree runs, steep chutes and wide-open bowls.

Cross-Country Skiing

Explore over 20 km of groomed and track-set cross-country trails departing from the Panorama Nordic Centre. The tranquil trails are perfect for both skate and classic skiing. Make sure to stop at the Hale Hut for a rest while enjoying the scenic lookout. Cross country skiing is included with your day’s lift ticket.

Ice Skating

Non-skiers and those who need a ski break can enjoy a few spins around our new skating rink! Located in the heart of Panorama Village, the skating rink has a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and is particularly breathtaking lit up after sunset. Rentals are available

RK Heli-Skiing 3 Run Powder Adventure

Experience the deep powder and perfect gladed tree runs of the Purcell Mountains. The 3 Run Powder Adventure is the perfect introduction to heli-skiing for first time or intermediate heli-skiers/snowboarders. All guides excel in finding fresh untracked powder in terrain that matches the group’s ability level. Finish off the day with après snacks and drinks by the crackling fire.

Getting to Panorama

Close to Calgary, Alberta, and the famous mountain town of Banff, Panorama is located at the heart of the Kootenay Rockies. The highways are well maintained and the drive through Banff and Kootenay National Parks is one of the most scenic in the world. Located only 2 hours southwest of Banff in the spectacular BC Rockies, turn south off Trans Canada #1 onto Highway 93 to Radium Hot Springs. Travel south on Highway 93/95 to Invermere (14km). Panorama is well marked, 18 km west of Invermere.

Calgary International Airport – Calgary International Airport (3.5 hrs drive – 292 km/181 miles) is the place where most travellers from around Canada and the world get their first glimpse of the Rocky Mountains.  When you land at Calgary International Airport, there are several ways to get here.

  • Round trip motorcoach transportation from Calgary International Airport during the winter season.
  • Rent a car from Calgary Airport. This can easily be arranged our Active Travel Experts
