Santo

Santo is Vanuatu’s largest island. Heading offshore into its surrounding pristine blue waters, Santo’s deep canyons, great drop-offs and submerged seamounts provide all the thrills that come with the promise and anticipation of landing the ultimate catch.

Overview

This piece of the Pacific offers visitors exceptional world-class fishing. Its submerged seamounts rise from depths of 600m up to 24m beneath the surface combined with some serious tidal flow around its reefs and through its straights makes for ideal fishing grounds. Marlin, wahoo, Spanish mackerel, giant trevally and a multitude of tuna species abound in these waters.

Best time to Fish

Fishing is all year round and the Vanuatu waters are abundant with yellowfin tuna, skipjack tuna and dogtooth tuna. Other big game fish can be caught at various times throughout the year.

April-November: Peak season for mahimahi and wahoo.
Sept-November: Peak season for striped marlin, black marlin.
November-March: Peak season for blue marline and swordfish

Getting there

Santo is located on Vanuatu’s largest island.  Fly into Santo from Port Vila or directly to Santo’s International Airport and we can arrange a taxi/shuttle/boat transfer to the resort
