Azores

Located in the North Atlantic Ocean about 1,500 km west of the Portuguese main land, the Azores archipelago is an independent region with nine major islands. Boasting dramatic landscapes, green pastures and numerous fishing villages the Azores is surrounded by waters 1000m deep where you will find an abundance of large game fish species and where you may even sight a sperm whale or a pod of dolphins too.

Overview

The volcanic origin of the islands gives the area an irregular sea floor with remarkable cliffs, barriers, drop-offs and plateaus, creating a perfect environment for local and migrating fish.
