The town of Revelstoke is regarded by some as the heli skiing capital of the world, and we think that is probably something you are going to want to prove for yourself. Deep snow, endless terrain choices, mild weather and certified, knowledgeable and friendly guides – powder hounds from around the world flock here to get in on the action.
Heli excursions with Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing can be booked at the base area of the mountain (so can other snow activities, for that matter).
With 40 years of experience heli skiing in the Revelstoke area, Selkirk Tangiers offers flexible one day and multi-day packages, taking guests to the areas best suited for both the day’s conditions and the skier abilities.
Soar into the Revelstoke skies and suss out the best trees, open bowls, and fun features for the best day of your life.
We loved this first timer’s take on the experience; especially her recommended tips for heli skiing success, so have included them below:
Tips for heli skiing:
- Book your trip for the start or middle of your stay so you can reschedule if there is a no-fly day.
- Take a goggle wipe, and chuck your goggs on as soon as you hear the chopper landing – it’s quite a show watching the pilots maneuver the craft right next to you.
- Don’t take your GoPro heli skiing – they interfere with the transceivers and have been given the no-go.
- Go to bed early the night before so you are as fresh as the powder.
