Revelstoke: Built for One Day or One Hundred

Here’s a thing, everyone has a different riding style, grade preference, accommodation expectations, family size, and cocktail of choice. We are no different when it comes to having our individual ski set-ups and resort preferences. So when we asked Nick to share how he spent a couple of days in Revelstoke, we wanted to hear more about the town, village, après, accommodation and skiing. What we didn’t expect was him throwing a curveball, a day with a super energetic 6-year-old, Emilia, courtesy of his girlfriend’s family in Revy. Naturally, we wanted to know everything! So here is the story from January 2026.

Revelstoke Town and Après

We got into Revy pretty late on the 1st of January, but the journey worth sharing started on the road towards it.

First stop was a staple, Triple O’s in Salmon Arm. And if you’re trekking the same way in your rental, this stop is highly recommended. Pictures speak a thousand words, it was worth the stop and the calories.

Getting into town late and wanting to wind down, catch up with the family, but also shake the car travel off, we opted for some bowling time. Best call this was, given Cantina del Centro is next door serving nachos, tacos and Coronas straight to the bowling alley. What a win!

The town itself is homey, a true Canadian endeavour with plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and things for you to enjoy. Not to mention it’s drop dead gorgeous in the snow. We work with a number of hotels in town for you to be placed amongst it all, and Basecamp just outside is a great option for anyone looking to be ever so slightly outside.

Some memorable mentions in town would start with breakfast and good coffee, Flourish Bakery, Spilt Milk. Fresh lunch at the Main Street Café, or sensational takeaway bowls at Tamariba Kitchen. Dinner and après are on at Quartermaster Eatery, The Den in Mackenzie Village, Monashee Spirits Craft Distillery for drinks, or The Village Idiot for a ski-themed hangout.

Revelstoke Mountain

I’ll be honest, the vertical drop, burning legs, the big mountain, that’s what gets you talking about Revelstoke. What brought me here was the talk about those seeking steep, deep, untouched terrain and heli-skiing experiences, plus it’s an absolute playground where intermediate and expert riders can tap into some big snow energy, from wide-open alpine bowls to perfectly spaced glades.

No, I wasn’t quite ready for it. It was still early in the trip, and being thrown onto a mega mountain was nerve-wracking. But the worries disappeared the second we popped off the chair. There’s so much terrain to explore in a day, especially after good snow, it was hard to wrap my head around the lines and honestly keep up with my partner, who once considered Revy her local. Groomers, views, shortcuts, chair changes, tree lines, and that final “hey, I know a scenic pine shortcut to Revelation Lodge, follow me” was the cherry on the cake. Challenging was exactly how I wanted it to be, yet so rewarding.

But don’t worry, it’s also perfect for family adventurers with more mellow slopes and a kids’ terrain park (aka the Gnome Zone). And don’t let the “steep and deep” reputation put off less confident skiers in your group, the intermediate terrain has grown a lot over the years and now makes up close to half the mountain. I’ve watched mates who’d normally stick to blues end up buzzing off long cruisy runs off the top, while the rest of us disappear into the glades.

In summary, with terrain suitable for all levels, from beginner to expert, Revelstoke has something for everyone. Explore perfectly groomed trails, challenging steeps, glades, and open bowls. Whether you’re cruising down The Last Spike, taking on the North Bowl, or navigating the gentle slopes of the Stellar Chair area, you’ll find terrain that suits your skill level. Kids LOVE it, here’s Emilia, she’s 6, with the biggest smile on her face.

Revelstoke offers childcare services through their Revelstoke Outdoors Club. This program provides supervised indoor and outdoor activities for children aged 18 months to 6 years. All care providers and safety and first aid trained with plenty of experience with kids giving you some time to switch off and have some alone time.

Ski-in/ski-out accommodation

If you are looking for ski-in/ ski-out accommodation, then The Sutton Place Hotel at here is the place for you, luxurious at that too.

After a big day on the mountain, the Sutton Place makes recovery just as good as the skiing. The heated outdoor pool and hot tubs sit right there with mountain views, so you can soak away tired legs while looking straight back up at the peaks you just skied. If you’d rather keep moving, the on-site fitness centre is fully equipped and easy to duck into between runs or before dinner. All-round, it’s the kind of property where the day doesn’t really end when the lifts stop turning.

Rooms range from studio suites right up through to three-bedroom units, so it works just as well for a couple as it does for a big group or family. They come with a kitchenette or full kitchen, a gas fireplace, washer and dryers, handy for drying out gear after a big powder day without relying on the hotel laundry. Make sure you talk to our snow holiday experts about which room is best for you, and they might even help you with one that’s been freshly renovated. We have the options and access to up to 20% off accommodation for you till the 15th of November

Final thoughts

Two days was never going to be enough, and that’s probably the biggest takeaway. Revelstoke has a way of making you feel like you have barely scratched the surface, whether that’s another glade you didn’t get to, another bowl still calling your name, or another spot in town you didn’t manage to squeeze in for a coffee. Between the terrain, the food, the people, and watching Emilia tear around with a grin permanently stuck on her face, it’s easy to see why my partner still calls it her local, and why so many people who visit once end up back again and again.

If Revelstoke has been on your radar, this is your sign. Get in touch with the team and we’ll help you build your own version of this trip, whether that’s steep and deep with the crew, or a slower family pace with a few Gnome Zone laps thrown in.
