The region links Grindelwald, Wengen, and Mürren into one enormous ski area, with over 200km of runs for every level. First-timers won’t feel lost, and strong intermediates could spend a full week here and still find new terrain.

Off the mountain, the villages deliver just as much. Car-free Mürren sits perched on a clifftop. Grindelwald buzzes with energy. Wengen charms quietly in a way that makes it hard to leave.

Accommodation

Hotel Schönegg sits in the heart of car-free Wengen — a village only reachable by train, which tells you everything about the pace of life here. The Superior Balcony Room puts you front and centre for those Eiger views, with solid wooden furniture, wooden floors, and warm wood-panelled walls giving it that proper alpine feel.

After a day on the mountain, the award-winning restaurant uses fresh local produce to deliver cuisine that punches well above its star rating. Wind down further at the bar, by the fireplace in the lounge, or in the sauna. The Männlichen ski lift is less than 150 metres away, and the train station a short stroll from the door — with direct connections to Kleine Scheidegg and the iconic Jungfraujoch.
