Matt Thomson lives and breathes ski, snow, fitness and snow adventure. He gets skiers fit and ready to hit the slopes with SnowFIT and now he’s joining travel&co as a tour leader. He’s skied around the world – and was the tour leader for the Canadian Adventure 2024 – taking the group to SilverStar and Sun Peaks.

Prices are based on per person twin share, in NZD, land only and for selected travel periods only. Single supplement available.
Credit/debit card surcharges, singles supplement and cancellation/change fees may apply. Events beyond our control such as currency ﬂuctuations and changes to the price of aviation fuel may result in price variations.
A $1500 pp deposit is required to conﬁrm your place on all tours.
Hosyed Group Japan: These are set date departures and will be escorted subject to a minimum of 10 people travelling. If less than 10, tour will still depart by may not be escorted.

Ski Japan Group Itinerary

2026 Japan Hosted Group Tour

This group itinerary is flexible, and the group hosts will adapt the itinerary to suit the wants and needs of the group. Below is an indication of how this small group tour will operate. With a ski lift passes at each resort included in your tour price, you can choose what days you want to ski, and when to take it easy off the slopes. The choice is entirely yours – every day on this small group tour is your ski holiday, your way!

Day 1: Welcome to Shiga Kogen
Guests arrive in Tokyo and meet their private transfer for a seamless journey to Shiga Kogen Prince Hotel East. Ski-in/ski-out hotel offers stunning mountain views, a cozy bar, and all the amenities needed for a perfect winter getaway.

Day 2-3: Ski Yakebitaiyama
Each morning begins with a delicious buffet breakfast before heading to the slopes. Home to Olympic ski runs, two gondolas, it is the largest, most advanced area in Shiga Kogen.

Day 4-7: Explore Shiga Kogen
After warming up at Yakebitaiyama, guests can explore the vast Shiga Kogen ski area. With 18 interconnected resorts, there is terrain suited for every skill level. Breathtaking scenery, powder runs, and endless adventure await.

Day 8: Snow Monkeys & Shibu Onsen
A break from skiing includes a visit to the famous Snow Monkey Park. The journey continues to Shibu Onsen, a charming town known for its traditional ryokans and historic baths. After lunch, guests transfer to Myoko Kogen and check into Myoko Vista, a boutique ski-in/ski-out retreat offering spectacular views.

Day 9-14: Myoko Kogen
Mornings start with breakfast at leisure before exploring one of Myoko Kogen’s eight ski resorts. Known for legendary powder, deep snowfall, and varied terrain, Myoko offers everything from perfectly groomed runs to exhilarating off-piste tree skiing.

Day 15: Departure
After checking out of Myoko Vista, guests board a local train to connect with the high-speed Shinkansen back to Tokyo. With speeds up to 320 km/h, the bullet train provides a smooth and scenic conclusion to their adventure, departing with unforgettable memories.
