With over 3000 acres of vast and varied ski terrain spread across its amazing Seven Territories, Winter Park is another gem in the snowbird’s mecca of Colorado.
With reliable snowfall and cool north-facing slopes, Winter Park is a favourite of Denver locals – and for very, very good reason.
It gets kudos for having lots of family and child-friendly groomed terrain, while still providing the goods for the more hardcore to challenge themselves.
Forbes named Winter Park on its list of top 10 ski resorts for 2018 – saying: “Skiers will find Winter Park to be a true destination resort, but one that’s in a quieter corner of Colorado.”
This season, there is a raft of new elements making Winter Park even more attractive – and yes, we have pulled them all into this handy post for you.
Ride the train! The Winter Park Express services will allow snow goers to take a spectacularly scenic ride from Denver in under two hours straight to the resort.
A new trail, the Sober Englishman, starting from the top of the Zephyr Express lift to the Mary Jane Trail, will make it easier to ski or ride from the Winter Park territory to Mary Jane.
The resort has even helped those seeking more off-piste adventures with the high adrenaline Cirque Sled.
Sought after terrain that used to be solely accessible by hiking can now be reached on this 48-seater sled which is pulled by a snowcat.
With a pleasantly laid-back vibe, the ski village offers a strong après culture with cool bars and restaurants suiting both families and other groups, and downtown Winter Park provides more than 50 additional dining and pub experiences.
It’s for good reason that Winter Park’s slogan is More Than You Imagine: the activities and events calendars are full of things to do.
