September to November – Settled Weather – Excellent Fishing – Blue & Black Marlin, Sailfish, Yellow fin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Yellow fin Tuna, Spanish Mackerel, Dogtooth Tuna.
December to February – Wet Season – Excellent Fishing – Blue Marlin, Yellow fin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Sailfish, Spanish Mackerel, Dogtooth Tuna
Historically, the best months for big Yellow fin are December through to May. This is not to say that fish to 70kg are not landed at other times of the year. October can be sensational!!
Blue Marlin are a year round proposition, with bigger fish from November through to May. However, our largest blue was tagged in late September and was estimated at well over 400kg.
Our fishing active travel expert has had the best marlin catches in May, June, September, October and November.

Getting there
Located in the South Pacific, you’ll fly into Samoa’s International Airport, 35km from Apia on the island of Upolu. Samoa is a short 3.5 hours from Auckland or 5 – 6 hours from Sydney.
