Two Days to fall in love with Aspen Snowmass

Two Days in Aspen Snowmass?

Keen for a snow trip packed with mountain magic, smooth service, and “pinch-me” moments? Here’s how Poppy from our ops team snuck away for a whirlwind two days in Aspen Snowmass, and it was the kind of story that left us grinning like kids on a powder day.

Whether you are a ski pro, total newbie, or just here for the eats, this plan has something for everyone.

Day One: Aspen Mountain

Night Before – Get Sorted

We kicked things off with ski rentals from Four Mountain Sports. Super easy, super quick, and zero stress. The best part? They will transfer your gear overnight to Snowmass if you are skiing both mountains, which is an absolute game-changer.

Caffeine Kickstart – Origin by The Farmer & Chef

Origin is the perfect spot to start your day. Breakfast dishes are fresh, hearty, and thoughtfully crafted. Whether you sit down or grab-and-go, it fuels your ski adventure. Pro tip: the breakfast burrito is 🔥

Morning Ski – Aspen Mountain

Fuelled up, we hit Aspen Mountain’s slopes, affectionately known as Ajax, offers a diverse range of terrain, a dreamy mix of cruisy groomers and steeper runs, all with that famous Colorado snow. A few sunny laps later, we were buzzing. Its compact of 675 acres, allows for quick laps and easy access to diverse terrain, making it ideal for both seasoned skiers and those looking for a quick ski fix.

Lunch with a View – The Sundeck

The gondola ride up Aspen Mountain is totally worth it for the views. At the top, The Sundeck served one of Aspen Snowmass’s Signature Seven Burgers, with a side of jaw-dropping scenery.

Afternoon Lesson

After lunch, I joined a ski lesson. Whether you are fine-tuning your turns or tackling steeper runs, these instructors level you up fast. Plus, they show all the best runs and insider tips to hit the best snow.

Gear Drop and Transfer

At the end of the day, we left our skis at Four Mountain Sports. They handled the transfer to Snowmass overnight. Couldn’t be easier.

Dinner – Las Montañas

We wrapped up with tacos and margaritas at Las Montañas. Fun vibe, bold flavours, and the perfect way to end day one. Ideal for a post-ski dinner feast, slid into a booth for some sizzling steak arrachera and achiote chicken fajitas with warm tortillas, garlic jalapeno butter, and queso fundido.

Day Two: Snowmass

Morning Treat – Toro

If starting the day with a bang sound like you, Toro is your spot. From traditional chilaquiles to breakfast tacos stuffed with scrambled eggs, pico de gallo, salsa, avocado, and your choice of meat, this breakfast sets the tone for the day.

Activities – Alpine Coaster and Tubing

Up at Elk Camp, we hit the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster. You can cruise or go full speed at 45 km/h. Then it was tubing time, with lanes for all levels. Tip: bundle up and book ahead as the wind bites.

Ski the Entire Day at Snowmass

Time to explore Snowmass’s massive terrain. More lifts, more runs, and more challenges than any other Aspen mountain. We chased the sun across the slopes, lapping up corduroy and sneaking into glades for a few extra thrills. Larger than our three other mountains combined, Snowmass offers burly steeps, inviting glades, and endless bumps, jumps, and groomers. You’ll be challenged to ski it all in a week, or even a full season.

Relax in the Afternoon – The Cabin

Picture this: fine wine, charcuterie, house-made pâté, hunter’s chicken with wild mushroom ragout, and après specials, all with panoramic valley views. Snowcat dinners are available too ❄️.

Dinner – The Stew Pot

Snowmass has a laid-back, homey vibe, and The Stew Pot nails it. Hearty, homemade food is perfect after a full day on the mountain. The beef stew is unreal.

Bonus – Buttermilk Chilli

Before heading home, we snuck in a few runs at Buttermilk. Ideal for boarders and new skiers, it also surprised me with the lodge’s chilli, rich, spicy, and warming from the inside out.

From stress-free gear transfers and epic runs to incredible food and family fun, Aspen and Snowmass tick all the boxes. Whether you are chasing powder, comfort food, or just a reason to rock your best snow gear, this trip delivers.
