Whistler’s On-Mountain Paradise – From Powder Runs to Firepit Cocktails.
Nestled amidst the stunning landscapes of British Columbia, Whistler Blackcomb stands as an iconic destination that offers not only breathtaking natural beauty but also a plethora of activities for anyone seeking an unforgettable adventure. From carving down the slopes to soaring high in the skies through heli-skiing, Whistler Blackcomb promises an extraordinary journey for the whole crew.
Skiing and Snowboarding: Carve, Cruise, Repeat
When it comes to skiing in North America, Whistler Blackcomb really is in a league of its own. Not only is it the biggest ski resort on the continent, with a staggering 8,171 acres of terrain, but it’s also the way the whole place is laid out that makes it so easy to love. It’s vast, yes, but never overwhelming.
The resort is split between two mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb, each with its own high-speed gondola zipping skiers and boarders up from their own base village. Getting on the mountain is quick and painless – no fuss, just straight into the action.
As for the terrain? There’s something for absolutely everyone. Beginners will love the wide, cruisy runs and mellow family zones, while more experienced skiers can head straight for the alpine bowls, steep chutes, and terrain parks. It’s a place where you can build confidence, push your limits, or simply cruise and take in the views.
And with one of the longest ski seasons in North America, you can still be carving turns into late May. Add over 10 metres of average annual snowfall and you’ve got a winter playground that delivers the goods well into spring.
And speaking of carving turns, and working up an appetite, the next section of the blog might just be one of our favourite parts about skiing and spending time in Whistler:
On-Mountain Dining & Après: Where Flavour Meets the Slopes
The excitement carries all over the mountain and Après happen without having to take the boots off or even finishing the ski run. With 14 on-mountain dining options on Whistler Blackcomb, there’s something to satisfy every craving, from quick bites between runs to gourmet meals with expansive mountain views.
Here are a couple of our favourite, very ON-mountain locations, plus a few of the exciting things that rolled out during the 2024/25 season and will carry over into next winter (cheers for the insider update, team Blackcomb 😊)

You’ll also find the Roundhouse Cappuccino Bar, Seppo’s/Corona Mountain Top Lodge, and the option of a full-service dining experience at Steeps Grill & Wine Bar we highlighted earlier.

Serving up a variety of internationally inspired dishes in a large, cafeteria-style setting, this spot also features a separate café perfect for grabbing quick bites, pastries, or a hot drink. The lodge itself is roomy, with communal tables and an outdoor deck that offers breathtaking mountain views.
Now that we’ve wined and dined, it’s time to take the party home, whether that means carrying on or calling it a night. Either option sounds pretty great to us, and we’d have a hard time choosing between the two on a ski trip.
