Now you can get to the slopes quicker! Take a ride on Big Whites new powder chair. Take a ride on the new 4 passenger fixed grip lift which replaces Big White’s oldest triple chair that was constructed back in 1979 meaning more quality time and action on the slopes.

2. Weave through Snow Ghosts

Check out the world famous Snow Ghosts at Big White! Ski or board on terrain with trees completely encased in snow and ice! Renowned for its amazing powder, when the snow falls and freezes onto the trees, this forms spooky and unique shapes on the uppermost section of Big Whites two peaks. Seeing Snow Ghosts at Big White needs to be on your bucket list!  Make sure to have your camera ready!

3. Go Dog Sledding

What better way to explore the breathtaking scenery of Big White than on a dog sled tour. Mush your way through the famous backcountry while being pulled along by powerful Canadian dogs.

4. Climb an Ice Tower

If you are after adrenalin thrills, this is your chance to swap your boots and poles for crampons and ice axes and climb an 18 metre tower of ice. Constructed of four telephone poles and thick layers of ice,  the Ice Tower is located in the Happy Valley adventure park and includes beginner and advanced options to make this a fun challenge for all fitness levels. Don’t worry about hiring gear as all the climbing gear is provided.

5. Learn from a professional

Learn from the best with instructors trained to teach you to ski or ride with confidence and will develop your snow skills with lessons, tailored to individual needs and programmes for all ages and abilities.

At Big Whites Ski & Board School you will get to explore the mountain at your own pace and improve your skills. Lose your fear with a first timers lesson, a one to one private lesson, or get social and make new friends with a group lesson. The whole family can learn to ski and there is a dedicated Kids’ Centre offering lessons and full and half day programmes for all ages and ability.

6. Experience the snow on two wheels

Want your dose of biking in winter, then give Fat Biking a go! This is the perfect way to explore the breathtaking scenery and back country trails of Big White when you aren’t clicked into skis or a board. With oversized tires designed for low ground pressure Fat Bikes are a perfect way to explore the snow. With designated trails just for Fat Biking this is a great adventure for the ultimate outdoor enthusiasts.

7. See the Okanagan stars

After a day on the slopes what could be better than sitting under the Okanagan stars and enjoying winter movie nights at Big White’s brand outdoor winter cinema.
Or why not try night skiing under the stars at the largest night skiing area in in Western Canada! From the Bullet Express and Plaza Chair you access to 2,569 meters of terrain to explore and best of all it’s FREE. Night skiing is offered Tuesday through to Saturdays.

8. Cruz the Blues

Make sure you take part in the Cruz the Blues. This event is the perfect way to get the whole family out on the mountain. Your challenge is to “cruz” as many blue runs as you can in two days! Plus this event comes with a free t-shirt giveaway and awesome prizes.
