Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be an expert skier/rider to join the trip?

No, we will cater for all ability levels. We will do our best to ski/board with every level of ability throughout the stay, but we may have to split our time across the various groups each day.

What if I’m a skier?

We don’t discriminate against your chosen discipline. Park City Mountain Resort has no restrictions on skiing or boarding, however if you choose to visit Deer Valley (additional lift pass cost) for a day you must be a skier!

I’m a single traveller, can I still come?

Absolutely. We can either match you up with another single traveller of the same gender or you can pay the single supplement and have a room to yourself.

What are the payment terms for the trip? Can I pay it off?

We have multiple payment options, including Q Card 12 months interest free. A deposit of $500 per person is require at time of booking and you can continue to pay in installments up to the final payment due date of 08 November. We can accept credit card or internet banking/direct credit. If you choose to pay by Q Card, your account will be debited the full balance of the trip and your interest free term will start from the day you book.

I don’t have my own gear, can I rent?

Yes. We can arrange rental for you, please ask your Active Travel Expert to add this to your proposal.

My partner wants to come along and they don’t ski. Do you offer a non skier price?

Yes! We can add/remove any components you do/don’t need.

I want more days skiing, can you help?

We can definitely add in more days skiing if you wish. Just let us know at time of quoting.

Do I have to be a certain age?

Not at all. If you are over 18 years of age and up for the skiing/riding and ready to party with Jesse & Logan. Keep in mind that the legal drinking age in the US is 21 years.

What will Jesse and Logan be doing while we are travelling?

They will be doing the same things as you! Enjoying the slopes, bars, restaurants and hanging out with the group. You may even feature on their posts or story while you are away!

Please remember that our hosts are not instructors and are there to ski/board with you and have a good time.

What is the travel&co representative there for?

Once we reach the minimum numbers, travel&co will send someone along to assist with any aspects of the trip including restaurant and activity bookings, making sure everyone is where they need to be when they need to be there for flights, transfers etc. Basically, they are there so you can enjoy the trip instead of sweating the small stuff.

Can we do our own thing?

Of course! There is no requirement for you to participate in anything that is organised along the way. Your time is free to fill with what you wish. However we will encourage you to come along!

Do I need travel insurance?

travel&co highly recommends a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover you for any accident that you might have while on the slopes. We can offer you a great policy that will cover you for everything you need. Please contact travel&co to get this included in your proposal.

Is there a maximum number travelling on the group?

We have limited this to the first 20 people, however if it is extremely popular, we will look to add another host and extend the numbers.

Is this trip for New Zealanders only?

Not at all. Anyone travelling from anywhere in the world is welcome to travel on this trip. Note that we are only able to charge customers in Australian & New Zealand Dollars, however can charge credit cards and accept wire transfers internationally (all fees/charges are accepted by the customer).

I can’t go on these dates, will you be running any other departures?

For now, this will be the only departure for 2020. However, we would love to make this an annual event and choose new and exciting destinations each year! So watch this space… sign up to the travel&co database and follow Jesse & Logan on Instagram to stay updated.

What should I do for flights?

Best to speak with your Active Travel Expert. They can assist with the best priced options and ensure you arrive and depart at the right times.

Are any meals included on the trip?

On the final night, there will be a dinner/party to farewell everyone after an amazing trip. This is the only included meal.

What is the policy on tipping?

This is custom in USA and is expected by your drivers, concierge, bellman etc. Really, anyone who provides you with a service.

We recommend around $1-2 per bag for porterage and between 15-20% of your bill at a restaurant or activity. If you are unsure while you are travelling, just ask your hosts or representative.

How much spending money should I take?

Everyone is different but we would normally suggest around $100 per person per day to cover your expenses. Maybe a little more if you are prone to a bit of shopping or a flutter at the casino!

Do I need a visa?

All persons who hold a New Zealand or Australian Passport (and lots more) travelling to USA must hold a current machine readable passport and complete an ESTA – Electronic System for Travel Authorization.  Information on this requirement, plus the application form, can be found on the ESTA website https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov.
