Other Activities

There is more to do at Breck than ski and ride. Whether it’s exploring the Country Boy Mine, the only authentic mine in Summit County, snowmobiling in the backcountry surrounding the Continental Divide or dogsledding with Siberian Huskies, Breckenridge has a host of high alpine activities to keep your vacation fun-filled and action-packed. For a more relaxing experience, get a massage at a day spa or take a leisurely carriage ride through historic downtown.

Colorado Kite Force

A new edition to Summit County, Colorado Kite Force offers snowkiting, kite boarding and kite skiing to guests who want to take their skiing or riding into the air.

Dog Sledding Tours

A variety of dog sledding tours for adults and children. Also offering a six-mile relay tour through the Middle Fork of the Swan River, available for up to six adults.

Snowmobile Tours

Offering a variety of tour options from “The Shortie,” a quick trip giving riders about an hour of snowmobile time, to “The Classic,” a scenic tour over Georgia Pass for stunning views of the Continental Divide and Park County. Dinner tours are available.

Fly Fishing

There are 4 full-service fishing shops who feature year-round fly-fishing excursions, equipment, flies and outdoor clothing.

Breckenridge Ice Rinks

The Stephen C. West Ice Arena has two ice rinks (one indoor, one outdoor) located on Boreas Pass Road; both are open for public skating seven days a week. Skate rental and instruction available on-site.

Breckenridge Recreation Center

Provides freeweights, cardio equipment, various aerobic classes, racquetball, basketball, two climbing walls, sauna, steamroom, hot tubs, a pool with a waterslide, skatepark, ball fields and outdoor courts. The Breckenridge Recreation Center also provides day care and “kids’ night out” programming.

Dinner Sleigh Rides

Imagine being swept along a picturesque snow-covered valley nestled under warm blankets in a cozy horse drawn sleigh, gazing up at the brilliant star-filled sky and the dramatic panorama of towering snow capped peaks.

Speakeasy Movie Theater

Located in the basement of the Colorado Mountain College on Harris Street in a room that was once Colorado’s first indoor swimming pool. Shows first-run movies and independent films.

Backstage Theatre

Plays such as “Alabama Rain,” and “The Spitfire Grill” have entertained audiences in the quaint, intimate Breckenridge theatre since it opened in its new ‘home’ in what was formerly Shamus O’Toole’s on Ridge Street.

Do Your Own Pottery

Ready, Paint, Fire is a pottery store in Breckenridge that allows kids of all ages to pick their piece, paint, and design and go crazy with creativity. All finished pottery can be shipped easily.

The Sacred Tree – Healing Center

An institute for the healing arts, located on the corner of South Ridge and Washington Streets in Breckenridge, offering holistic approaches in treating illness and promoting overall health.
