About Dave Moran – Editor at Large, Dive New Zealand Magazine
Dave Moran is an experienced photographer and has travelled the world and its oceans in the South Pacific, Asia and Antarctica as a photojournalist.

With over 50 years of diving experience, Dave has been instrumental in searching for and salvaging shipwrecks. This work has provided many amazing dive opportunities that included the recovery of gold and silver coins from the wreck of the Elingamite at the Three Kings Islands, with the late Kelly Tarlton. He also took part in the expedition to the Auckland Islands in search of the General Grant. More career highlights include photographing Chinese porcelain cargo and its recovery from the Tek Sing, in the South China Sea.

Dave has spent a lifetime involved in and promoting diving and the underwater world and continues his underwater journey with this exceptional Galapagos Island Liveaboard experience.



Galapagos Trip Highlights

Punta Carrion at ltabaca Channel
Start you liveaboard experience with a dive amongst White Tipped Sharks, Stingrays, Eagle Rays and Marbled Rays, Scorpion Fish, Sea Turtles and Sea Lions.

Darwin Island and Wolf Island
World famous sites provides thrilling diving with Schooling Scalloped Hammerhead Sharks, clouds of Tuna, Galapagos Reef Coral and occasionally Whale Sharks and Orcas.

Bartolome Punta
Dive down 20-90ft dive site for spectacular marine adventures starring Groupers, Creole Fish, White Tipped Sharks, Barracudas, Scorpion Fish, Sea Turtles, Guinea Puffer Fish, Red Lipped Batfish, Reef Corals and occasionally Hammer­heads and Bottlenose Dolphins.

Bartolome Summit
Spectacular views of Pinnacle Rock, the immense black lava flows at Sullivan Bay and the rest of Santiago Island, and Daphne Major and Minor.

Galapagos Tortoises & wildlife
On land walk amongst the iconic giant tortoises in the Galapagos Tortoise Reserve, get up and close with Land Iguanas, take photos of Blue Footed Boobies, and experience stunning land­scapes including the Los Gemelos (The Twins, two enormous sinkholes).

  • Galapagos Liveaboard Dive Trip is based on per person, twin share, in NZD and for a selected travel period only.
  • A $1000 pp deposit is required to confirm your place on the trip.

  • This is a set departure date Tour and will be escorted subject to a minimum of 8 people travelling. If less than 8 people book, the tour will still depart but will not be escorted.
